LEDP Limerick Cleantech

LEDP in association with our partners LIT, EI, Limerick Local Authorities, the FDI and SME Sectors and UL are pleased to announce the establishment of The Limerick Cleantech Initiative At LEDP.

We are pleased that Limerick Cleantech Initiative is seen as a viable Green Cluster  in the  Government Policy Statement on Growth and Employment in the Green Economy entitled Delivering Our Green Potential (click to access)

The vision around this project is to combine Cleantech Enterprise/ Incubation space, Installer Training and Research / Data Centre activities on the LEDP site.

The primary aim of the centre is to support the creation of sustainable high level jobs in the region through Mentoring Venture Capital Support etc. In pursuance of this objective, the support of the two local Third level Institutions, UL and LIT, has been pledged.

Their expertise in running existing centre’s on their campuses will help support the development of the concept. A conservative estimate is that over 200 participants could be put through the centre over a five year period and by applying normal success and expansion levels this could lead to the creation of 600 jobs in allied businesses

The key partners are  LEDP, Enterprise Ireland, LIT, UL  and the Local Authority. We are also seeking to create an FDI/SME support network to advise and provide commercial or other market opportunities to the centre.
